Neteilyu's Tent

Last night, I was attacked by some airborn allergen.  I came home, squirted my nose with the stuff that makes me risk nosebleeds (oh, it would be wonderful if I cold use those nose-sprays regularly, instead of just for emergencies), took my pills, undressed, washed, and put clean clothes on, and after an hour or so later of sitting still feeding used kleenexes into the trash, was able to start focusing again.

I had planned to clean house.  NOT a good idea right after an allergy attack like that.  So instead, I got out my paints, and what emerged (over the course of Bones, SG-Universe, and Merlin) was an illustration for Monster Teeth and Art Glass.

I think I'll want to tweak it a little before submitting it to Torn World.  I might even get ambitious enough to add Neteilyu to the picture.  Maybe.  People are hard.  But anyway, comments and suggestions are welcome!

Sponsorships of this or the story always appreciated (the donation button is under the story, if you wish to use it).  And I'll be willing to sell the original, once it's finished and scanned.

I look forward to reading your comments!

I love it.

So fake fantasy tattered, you can see why the tourists would love it.

A gorgeous painting.

People are very hard!!

The picture is a bit hard to see but I like what I see of it. I was inspired on our trip, I want to pick up my oil paints. It's hard, so much to do around the house and then getting through LJ & DW & pictures but I want to drop it all and maybe paint some of the pictures I saw. I know my imagination-paintings would end up being far better than my real-life paintings but I think I should give it a short try tomorrow.

And I thought I'd read that story but don't remember it so going to read it now :)

Really sorry to hear about the vicious allergen attack. I understand that the tail spines on the airborne ones eject a particularly virulent venom that reacts dangerously with the spray that's used to kill the tiny nasties. Kleenex after kleenex filled with their itsy-bitsy, scaled and spined dead bodies really should be "promptly" burned so the unlaid eggs don't hatch and invade your living space. Best of luck with that.

Great picture. Very good atmosphere. Like red_trillium, I found it difficult to see clearly, but I like what I see. Were I any kind of crafter, I'd enjoy selling from such a nifty mood-setting venue.

My cell phone is a very handy way to take "in process" pictures of still-wet paintings, but isn't as good as a scanner, and the light can be shining off of wet (or even sometimes dry) spots in ways that are...unhelpful. Some of the "foggy" look of this picture is jut light-shine.

And some places I worked on to add contrast after seeing this reproduction. For some reason, looking at a tiny thumbnail (like on the phone) and looking at a photo-sized image (like this) help me to see things about a painting I just don't see staring at it full size.

But you can't put it on the scanner wet (well, you can but it's stupid!). Besides, I want to lure people over to check out the Torn World site. So the final scans, with any touch-ups, will be there instead of here, just like final versions of stories.
