Sometimes Believing is Enough

After doing my best to impose positive thinking onto my brain, I did manage to do a sketch last night, and several more this morning:

The first three are for sale at the sketchfest site, the funds to go to pay for improvements to the Sketchfest site or for costs related to bringing out the first Torn World print anthology.

The antibiotic seems to be slowly helping My Angel feel better.  I'm still tireder than I like to be, but today, at least, I've got words in my head and may actually get a few onto the page.  Or I may return to that first girl, and see if I can get her jaw to look less lame...

Those are great. I'm glad your angel is feeling a bit better. Get some rest at some point.

Oh, I did get rest last night, both before I went to bed (I fell asleep on the couch-lol) and a good night's sleep after I got to bed. It's a sign of how profoundly I was tired, or perhaps of how sick I was, that I didn't wake all rested and bushy-tailed.

I'm glad you enjoyed the sketches!

This pushing myself to sketch every month, and to work on stuff for Torn World, is being good for me--I can see the improvement. But it's more than just the practice--it's having people like you who cheer me on that helps keep me finding the energy time after time. Doing the work, and doing it well, matters more when I know it's not just for me, that it will in some small way brighten someone else's day too.

I wanted to participate this time. I went and it hadn't kicked off. I went to bed, got up, ran errands. Then I returned and it said pencils down and the artists had 21 hours to post. I was confused. I know you usually do participate. I need to figure out how not to miss the window next time.

I am thrilled to think I give you any kind of motivation. You are so very talented. I want you to keep at it. ::hugs you tight::

It's a 24-hour period, noon to noon Alaska time. I think that's something like 4 pm Eastern Standard time. Does that help?

I plan to keep at it! Thanks.

I quite like that tree critter.

Interestingly, it's the one that took the least time! I'm glad you like it.

I'm sure I'm biased by just having gotten back from a Madrigal event, where one of the big characters I play is "the root maze", and looks not entirely unlike that. :)

How cool! You make me curious!

merimask made me an awesome mask. I have a photo of the costume, but the rest of it is much less awesome, and the mask isn't very visible in it. I had wilder plans, but they didn't make it past the implementation hurdle.

Blithering game backstory & cosmology at you is an option, but that's long and wanders off in all sorts of random directions. It's the spirit of a place which is a haven and a collection of paths.

A very cool mask, and the costume is pretty cool too.

And hey--you still have the mask. If you wanted to do something prettier in the future, you have time.

I wonder if that first one would work well with "A License to Travel"?
