#writeathon by the River

2012-06-26 by the river I love living in the future.

Today at lunch, I went outside to sit under a tree by the river.  Admittedly, it wasn't quiet--they're building something across the river, and so there was plenty of construction noise.  But I really wasn't noticing it--I was testing a new ap on my kindle.

It worked--I not only wrote 383 words for the Clarion West Write-a-Thon, but they are now safely copied over and saved in the main file for the story I'm working on.

At WisCon, where I had internet, I was able to work on a Google doc (different story).  That was cool.  But Summerfest is coming up.  Last year I did some sketching while listening to the music, but that only works in daylight.  I'm sure Summerfest isn't providing free internet, so I need something that would work without the net.

Free!  At last I'm free!

Oh--and there were canoes:

I would be remiss if I didn't mention the following:

If you want to support Clarion West, you can sponsor me here:  http://clarionwest.org/user/5097  The donate button on this page is theirs, not mine, though they'll tell me how much I earned for them.  Your donation will support a program that helps bring us great speculative fiction.

Thank you.
